Enterprise Architecture and Extreme Misunderstanding

I previously blogged on extreme misunderstanding and have additional thoughts...

For those in large enterprises who think about perception management and have adopted cliche phrases such as perception is reality, I ask that they consider the following:

  • Doing and thinking are separate activities

  • "Simplest" means "easiest to code", or "requires a minimum amount of learning"

  • "Work" means "presentable", not "thoroughly tested"

  • Assume ignorance not malice

  • If these four things could be adopted, sort of a manifesto for receivers of information then reality and perception could become equals...
