More thoughts on IT and Business Alignment
Dave Oliver left an interesting comment in response to a blog on thoughts on business and IT alignment that is worthy of amplification...
| | View blog reactions- You are talking about an age old struggle between Formalism (process weaners) and Hermeneutics (interpretation and understanding of social events by analysing their meanings to the human participants and their culture).
- The difference is the way that people think, linear thinking people are mostly formalist, the drive for innovation will be making these people lives even more lazier, when the drive should be about discovering and automating the 'Foundation of Execution' in other word how a business does business, it's actual mechanics better common sense.
- This is how successful companies become successful because it's a pleasure for a customer to do business with them, it's not just about quatity in stock and at the right price, thats the basics, it's about applied pleasant common sense, stuff we call these days 'experiences' or 'easy' or 'efficient' which are the wrong words, thats fine when it's a computer talking to a computer but not a human being.
- For my mind the company that's mission statement is 'We're Good With Human Beings' is the one what will write the next killer application and the one I will buy as much stock as I can in!
