The poor are the biggest destroyers of the environment...
Today is Blog Action Day where thousands of voices will focus on one topic: The environment...
It is my belief that the best way we can help the environment is to focus on helping the poor. We have outsourced environmental destruction in the name of survival to poor countries such as India and China. As China solves for employing the masses and allowing its citizens to be productive, they in the same breath are destroying the environment.
In Brazil, poor farmers in order to put food on the table are destroying the rain forests. The environmental effects of global warming can be made to disappear if we advocate Fair Trade over Free Trade. The environment and poverty are one. Please do not exercise your right to remain silent on this important issue...
