Why IT no longer innovates...
Enterprise Architects no longer have good ideas as they are being spoonfed magic quadrants by industry analysts when they aren't busy creating Powerpoint. Developers don't create good ideas because it is considered scope creep in the world of CMMi and therefore only work on tasks that are assigned. Managers don't create good ideas because they simply order takers who are working hard to change perception that they are not order takers when reality states otherwise. Business folk don't innovate because they have to do what their customers want.
So, is it a sad state of affairs when no one within the enterprise is innovating? Maybe the key message here is to get better at letting your customers innovate for you...
