Enterprise Architecture: Proof is often not required...

It is just too difficult to produce simple proof on certain aspects of architecture or why a particular approach is better. Isn't it better to just say its better because it is what someone else we trust told us?

Why can't we follow tradition as simple proof is a lot of work...
