Laurence Hart and Standards Bodies
I heard through the grapevine that Laurence Hart will be the lead of a new standards body focused on ECM. It is good to see him recognize the need for standards in the ECM world. As I understand, one of his first activities will be to put together working groups on the following:
| | View blog reactions- Figuring out how/where/when ECM vendors need to be interoperable with each other
- Creation of an industry excepted reference architecture analogous to the J2EE Blueprints to include patterns
- Possible creation of a reference implementation analogous to J2EE Petstore
- Sorely needed security innovation including helping ECM vendors align with storing content and not users and externalizing authorization via industry standard protocols
