Ways to confuse software vendors (Part Two)

Additional thoughts on ways to confuse software vendors...

I tried a new experiment this week and asked several security vendors about their participation in OWASP and got lots of interesting reactions like the kind where you have familiarity with the acronym but otherwise don't know what it means.

I am still attempting to figure out what it would take for software vendors to start deeply participating in local user groups. If you are stupid enough to shell out $10K or even $20K for a booth at an industry analyst conference, why are you too cheap to sponsor a local user group meeting buy agreeing to buy pizza and some trinkets for door prizes for say $200?

If you are a security vendor reading this blog and you haven't sponsored a local chapter of OWASP, don't make excuses for not doing so and make this your action item for the morning...
