The Open Web Application Security Project
I never realized how time consuming it is to launch a local users group. Finding speakers who are knowledgeable about software security and secure coding practices is hard in that the community currently is very small. Over time though, it shall comprise millions if we are successful.
If you haven't heard of the Open Web Application Security Project there is more than likely a chapter near you. I know that industry analysts from Forrester and the Burton Group participate in them and hopefully they will also do their part to evangelize this important need...
