We all know that the answer to this question is no, but need to discuss why. Several weeks ago, an architect who I have tons of respect for told me that for any domain, he could make up stuff on the fly, get it right and not cause harm but felt he couldn't do it for security. At some level, architects acknowledge that in security, the details matter. They also acknowledge that this is in direct conflict with work/life balance and time management and therefore let it drop.
