Why aren't IT executives patriotic?

When I first entered the IT profession, I was surrounded by many folks who served in the armed forces. Nowadays, finding an executive who has served is rare. In thinking about all the IT folks I now, it seems as if architects have the best military representation in terms of their background while business analysts tend to have the least. Curious if others have noticed a similar pattern?

I have yet to run across a single industry analyst from Gartner that served in the armed forces. It also seems as if all the analysts in the blogosphere also have zero military background. Was does this say about our future?

I suspect folks over at CIO magazine will exercise their right to remain silent on this topic and won't realize that there is no better way to build real sustainable leadership and innovation than to do so while serving our great nation...
