Document Management File Formats
Mike Herrick had an interesting post on Document Management File Formats that ECM vendors should support within their products. I wonder if Craig Randall of EMC and others have any thoughts on his posting?
My gut reaction is that not only should ECM products support these file formats but where appropriate support the ability to convert from one file format to another as an out of the box feature. While I understand that none of the vendors provide this functionality today, I would love to know from a purely technical perspective why this couldn't be built into ECM products (same SKU, not different)?
