Thoughts on Venture Capital and Open Source...

I am still reflecting on my attendance at the wonderful conference put on by folks over at the 451 Group and the session with folks from Microsoft, EMC and Progress software and many of their rants about the business plans that VC firms receive and how they could be made better.

I wonder instead of simply talking about the process and best practices in creating a business plan, could the venture capital community come together and find one or two good examples of a business plan and make them open source?

If folks in the community can study plans for what is good about them then this may actually increase the opportunity for even more innovative ideas to emerge which benefits all parties. Maybe I should ping Dan Gordon of Valhalla Partners to see if he would be game to kick this off...
